Our committee meets around every two months or so to discuss issues around the Chesterfield area. Our latest meeting looked at arrangements for placing our next blue plaque – on the Winding Wheel in Chesterfield (probably in January) and progress on our planned town trail leaflet, amongst other issues.

Like others, we remain concerned about the future of Chesterfield town centre in this post Covid, internet and out-of-town shopping era. Chesterfield is not unique in the challenges it faces in this respect and there’s been and continues to be investment in the town.

To start gathering some ideas about this issue, we are hoping to hold a member and public meeting in the new year. We’ll keep you informed about this event.
